Overview
Now is the time to step back and make sure your roadmap to that future is clear. For accounting & finance professionals, technology advancements mean that previously mundane tasks such as book-keeping, report-generation, banking and filing tax returns can now be handled by business owners using a plethora of digital accounting apps. AI and Blockchain also hold the promise for more automated and effective solutions for audit and compliance requirements. At the same time, they now have to contend with challenges such as cross border taxation for digital platform businesses, accounting for cryptocurrencies and intangible assets such as data and ecosystem participants. Not only do they need to become more technologically savvy and stay on top of the latest digital disruption, they must also possess the skills to provide valuable insights and design solutions to help their businesses navigate successfully in the digital economy.
Comprising 6 modules, this certification programme has been specifically designed for accounting and finance professionals and will give participants the opportunity to learn from experts on the essential skills, practices and mind-set in the digital age in order to take advantage of new digital opportunities, respond to potential threats and set the right direction forward.
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Strategic Digital Transformation in Finance, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
Module 1: Digital Strategy for Finance Managers
Module 2: Digitalisation Implementation in Financial Services
Module 3: Improving Financial Outcomes with Data Analytics – Going Beyond the Ledger
Module 4: Design Thinking for Finance Professionals – The Human-Centered Approach to Innovation
Module 5: IT Risks, Governance and Security Essentials
Module 6: Digital Taxation Disruption at the Cutting Edge for Finance Professionals
Participants will be able to earn CPD Points awarded by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants when they attend the modules. Please click on the individual course titles above for further details.
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 6 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Strategic Digital Transformation in Finance issued by Singapore Management University.
